The double flowers add a flourish of cool colour to the early perennial garden. This compact, heavy blooming columbine puts forth mounds of soft sea green foliage in spring. In late spring it bears erect, branched stems topped with double, upward facing flowers. The violet-blue petals are edged in white & look like a mass of frills. Quite stunning.
